Late Blog Post :( Ch 4.
In the 1850's a German-born american painter name Albert Bierstabt accompained a corps of U.S Army engineers. On their expedition he made sketchesthat later became spectacular paintings. One of his paintings that catches my view is a landscape and its called " The Rocky Mountains" which he drew in 1863. It has horses, tipis, water falls, hills, and mountains. Its also oil canvas and it is stored in the Museum of Art in New York.
Another artist that is related to Albert Bierstabt is Huang Gongwang. He did a Chinese landscape painting in the 14 century. Its called " Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains". Its brush and black ink on paper. This picture is related to the "Rocky Mountains" because its both similar on the viewing of it and it has hills and trees on it but, this particular painting also has houses in it. This painting is located at the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
Both of these painting are my favorite because it has a nice viewing.
~Our First Drawing~
This is the image that I drew last week (Tuesday). Professor Glenn broke down the images into 5 sections on the projector in class. We started it by drawing lines from the bottom of the picture, upside down, step by step. It was very relaxing and I really enjoyed because ihave never took an art class and on tuesday it was our first night of drawing a picture. It's fun to draw and listen to music at the same time time especially in a quiet room.
